This integration allows you to accept PayPal, Venmo, and Installment payments (Pay Later and Pay in 4) from your clients.
API Credentials
To get started, you will need a developer account and API credentials from PayPal. You can get started by clicking this link, and login, sign-up, or upgrade to a business account. Once logged in, you will see your Developer dashboard:
On the top right corner, toggle the switch to “Live” view. Then click on “API Credentials” and create a new PayPal app:
Name your app something like “[company name] paypal integration”:
When you click “Create App”, you should be redirected to your API credentials. Make note of these credentials:
Configure Lumify
In the Lumify Integration Gallery, click “configure” for the PayPal integration. Next, enter in the PayPal API credentials we created above:
Additional Options
- The “Enable PayPal” option will allow your clients to make payments using the PayPal payment method.
- The “Enable PayPal Installment Payments” option will allow your clients to make payments using PayPal’s “Pay Monthly”, “Pay Later”, or “Pay in 4”

Payments
When your client submits a payment via the client portal, the payments will automatically populate in your Lumify payments page.
Refunds
For convenience, you can refund payments directly from Lumify. Refunds will sync automatically with PayPal. Please keep in mind that refunds from PayPal are subject to funds availability in your PayPal account. Typically, refunds will be processed immediately if you have a PayPal balance. However, if you do not have a PayPal balance, refunds may take 3 – 5 business days until your financial institution covers the refund amount. Refunds will automatically sync with Lumify once completed.
Troubleshooting
- Double-check your API credentials are correct (and the credentials are not “Sandbox” credentials)
- Disable and re-enable the PayPal integration
